Stress test all the major sub-systems of a computer for Endurance, Reliability and Stability. Since my problems were continuing to degrade the more I changed settings, even when resetting to factory defaults, and I've run out of configurations to try on the USB controllers (+ the addition of SATA problems now popping up) I rolled back to the F8 BIOS the board shipped with. For Windows (also available for Linux x86 / ARM). My PSU seems more than up to task (1000w corsair RMx), and is brand new, according to software measurements it's not having any appreciable voltage droop. I've reduced my overall load on the motherboard USB to under 1.5a, moving the remaining high power device (500ma wireless mouse) to USB3 didnt have an effect. The only remaining devices are connected through a pcie x1 2 port USB3 card. I have only 1 device connected to USB3 onboard at this time, my RGB keyboard. I have moved all high current devices off my USB2 controller except my wireless mouse (500ma) - there is currently a 100ma connection to my NZXT cooler to 1 motherboard usb2 header, and a 250ma connection to a usb2 card reader that sits mostly idle, no other devices on USB2 bus any longer. Oh I am sorry if I didn't directly respond to one or more suggestions, let summarize: so either im overloading the USB controller on this board, or something else is going on it seems? Just wanted to add that the issue just happened again, 100% stock settings with ram set to default 2133mhz.

I reset to optimized defaults this morning and am currently running tests, so full auto. Memory: Enhanced Performance / 16-18-18-38 / 3200mhz (rated speed) I have a super mild overclock on my 9900k (4.8ghz) and have my voltages set as follows: Is the BIOS I'm on problematic? Is there a voltage or other setting i should increase or decrease? But the odd thing is my applications (chrome, games, etc) are totally fine and 100% stable thru it, so i think it's only a USB problem? I do have about 8 devices connected, a couple of which draw the maximum supported 500ma from ports. My USB ports cut in and out, and sometimes windows explorer locks up (presumably because my audio output, which is on USB has screwed up).
